Leaving Møn – I’m putting the fenders (‘the squad’) away

For those of you wondering how we measure our distance sailed, we are clocking our nautical miles through the water – this is often more than the distance as the bird flies because we have to tack (not even La Bamba can sail straight into the wind) and we sometimes have to sail against or with a current that can add or detract from the total.

Day 11, on to Torekov, a Sea Change – 45nm

Onwards down the Swedish coast

Today it was definitely windier than the forecast- we set off out of Varberg harbour with the sea state very definitely lumpy. We had a pretty constant 18-21 knots true nearly all the way, South-Westerly. That’s a good force 5 so gone was our flat sea and the white horses were tossing their manes.
