Day 30 – Terschelling to Harlingen, 19nm

Friday, 2 August

We left Terschelling in the afternoon mostly due to tide and when our neighbours were leaving!

On our way with new crew

We followed Quattordici out into the narrow channel keeping an eye on our depth gauge.

It seems everyone is leaving together.

Chasing Quattordici

There was a bit of wind to begin with and La Bamba showed off overtaking her good friend Quattordici (who she usually follows like a lamb)

Looking swell!

And they took some pictures of us!

La Bamba gliding along!

Angela and Fin helmed

A natural on the helm
Fin took to it like a pro!
Angela on the bow
David did his boom walk!

Sadly the wind died and with it the comfortable breeze..

Hiding from the hot Dutch sun!

and we motored into the very cramped but lovely harbour of Harlingen

In we go!

We negotiated some bridges

Following Quattordici….

Unfortunately we discovered that Greta has gone on strike, so David spent an hour figuring out what she wanted…

Reading the manual
Everything out of the lazarette so David can go in!

Fortunately it turned out to be a badly connected fuse so all is well with Greta! We need her as she is our 3rd permanent crew member!

It’s quite shallow here – we draw 2.25m – our depth shows 2.4!

Quattordici is 2.5 and Marc says they are ‘stuck in the blub’ but the tide will come in!

Right inside the town!
Houses, cars, boats!
Our view!
