Sorry for delay on these – I know they are popular!
Some miles were on motor, some sailing
We were worried our furler was failing
But it furled in quite slickly
And to Orth we skipped quickly
To dock by Quattordici’s railing!
In fair winds we set off to Laboe
La Bamba showed how fast she can go
We arrived and ate fish
One too many a dish!
And watched the wet Paris show!
We took the slow ferry to Kiel
And ate a packed shrimp sandwich meal
The cathedral was shut
It is quite modern but
The gardens had verdant appeal
We entered the Kiel canal lock
With no waiting, which was quite good luck
We motored on by
Huge ships in the sky
All the way to the end where we docked
Hardly a wait as we left the canal
This docking is becoming banal
To Cuxhaven we sped
Took on diesel and fed
On great fish – very good for morale!
