Welcome Visitors and New Crew

Dartmouth, Sunday 13 July

Kingswear sparkling in the sun

Today was super sunny again and we were very happy to welcome my nephew Paul with Jemma and Elara and Jemma’s parents Colin and Helen who all came to visit La Bamba.

We enjoyed lunch on the boat – thanks for bringing all the food! And discovered that Elara is very partial to Doritos.

After lunch La Bamba took us all for a boat trip up the river to Dittisham and all the way back to the harbour entrance.

Everyone got a go at learning about depths and navigation

Pretty Dartmouth

There was a lot of activity on the foredeck

Some were a bit more relaxed

Enjoying the view
Elara is an excellent sailor

Elara, 3, is the youngest to ever come on La Bamba and sensibly had brought her own life jacket, she was perfectly behaved and very good at spotting all the other boats on the river – she has definitely earned her sea legs badge.

Jemma is due this month

Well that is if we don’t count her very soon to be little sister.

Then this evening we met up with our new crew, my cousin Penny, and also, very excitingly, met our old school friend Angela who remembers crossing the channel with us over 30 years ago!

3 BSBers!

We are checking the forecast and hoping the winds will stand fair for Guernsey tomorrow.

Fabulous to spend time with Elara and family
