We always love visiting Guernsey as she is such a beautiful and welcoming island.

Last time we were here the weather was wet and grey, but this time it’s glorious sunshine.

We took Wendy’s very good advice and swam in the tidal swimming pool. The water is refilled twice a day by the tide and is very refreshing.

We happened to be here on the last day of term and all the Year 6s were jumping in in their school uniform! (After we’d swum, fortunately!)

The crew had shore leave to see friends and take a bus round the island. It was Mark’s first visit here and he was very impressed.

They have some interesting local customs here, Penny’s friend Andy won over 4 pounds of pork at their pubs ‘pork draw’.

Our plans to leave on Saturday morning had to be shelved because Roscoff was full Saturday night. So we have decided to do an overnight passage to get there Sunday morning at slack high tide. There’s a lot of tide around here!
